I arrived at emergency a little after 5 in the morning on the 3/03/26 and after almost 5 hours and several trips to the public toilet to vomit, I found myself once again back in the waiting room. I let a nurse know I had been there for almost 5 hours and really needed to lie down, as I was in pain, and was told there would probably be a bed available in half an hour. Extremely disappointed with the service at Bundaberg Base Hospital Emergency Department. My 3-year-old had a cut on his foot, and we waited more than 4 hours and doctor even didn’t saw him. No updates, no urgency, and very little compassion shown during that time. For a hospital emergency department, that’s simply unacceptable — especially when it involves a small child.

URGENT REVIEW REQUIRED! 1 star for the public system staff but that’s about it. Absolutely devastated that I have recently moved my family here to a public health system that doesn’t work. Had to bring my 2 year old to emergency as per gp’s recommendation. We had 2 wait 4 hours just for a nurse to complete her observations to turn around and say I’m not sure what you want to do but it’s still going to be another wait to see a DR! Spent 5 hours in there and people were coming in with the sniffles they got seen within 45 minutes my issue was a badly infected forearm but in future I'll be saying I've got the sniffles as well as the issue I have
