I have been a builder for 26 years and have dealt with many building departments. This is my favorite. Everyone is kind and helpful. My most recent deck plans were reviewed very fast. The fastest approval I have ever had. Then today I walked in at 11:30 to ask if I needed to have a frame inspection and to see if all my step footings needed to be dug as well as the deck footings prior to my footing inspection. Extremely helpful and friendly.
Most efficient building department in the area. We were able to finish a basement, get inspections, and close out the whole project in 4 weeks. The staff are super kind and helpful from the front desk through to their inspectors. I wish the surrounding departments in the area ran as well as Ypsilanti Township!
