With all of the bad reviews I’m not shocked I had a bad experience. Lost an item in a car which they said they couldn’t find which is fine but manager Chris was extremely rude and the customer service was 0/10. We use rental cars every single week and will not be using budget again.
Budge did not follow their own rental policy. I booked a standard suv for a business trip where I would be hauling large camera equipment. When at the desk they said they could not give me the vehicle since I am under 25. After leaving the airport I checked their policy, this is not true. They just can’t give me a full sized suv which I did NOT book. I then noted that I may return the vehicle early to catch a flight the night before. They said this could incur an additional charge. Horrible experience!!!!!
When the gearshift of my rental came apart and left me stuck at the Badlands National Park I was charged $768 for a plastic piece that popped out of the gearshift that had nothing to do with the way I treated the vehicle. The clerk at the desk said fill out an explanation. It shouldn’t be any problem in the next thing you know I have a third-party recovery team after me and Budget won’t even have one word with me.
