The lady who helped us was not the friendliest but her supervisor sure made up for it and gave us a nicer vehicle which we loved. I made sure to thank him before we left.
My bottom word on this location is use some other Rental company. We got an extra $450.00 fee + additional fees based on that and new taxes on this additional cost all because we dropped the car off after (their)hours and put the keys in a drop box near the door(As per the website request). Apparently when the car was checked in their employee checked the paperwork as key not present(hence the automatic charge of $450.00) and no one decided to check any drop box around the ticket counters( there are two!!!) I’ve always booked my rental cars through Budget and have never had an issue—until this most recent rental. Unfortunately, I was falsely charged a fuel fee even though I returned the vehicle with a full tank. What’s most frustrating is having to repeatedly call to follow up on a charge that should never have been applied in the first place. DO NOT RENT from here or Avis. I followed their instructions written on their website to drop off the keys in the dropbox if returning the car after hours. This is exactly what we did. I receive a bill for an extra $450 plus $96.47 for lost key. They didn’t even look in the dropbox! When I called to question these charges, the person says they already made replacement keys and there is nothing they can do about the charges. I believe that’s a lie as well. DO NOT USE BUDGET CAR RENTALS!!! CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY. Terrible experience with Budget and many of their employees at the Bradley Airport location in Windsor Locks, CT. Rude. Unaccommodating. Won’t even look at you and make eye contact. The guy at the counter was in the middle of working with me and all of a sudden takes his phone out and scrolls his social media. Unreal.
