Just finished up a 1 hour line to pick up a car with a reservation. Got a car that was completely beat up with a check engine light on. Be prepared for a long adventure after your flight.
Read the contract carefully before you sign. If you return the car early, they may charge you more. Yes, you read that right. Unlike many other rental companies that calculate charges in 24-hour rental periods, they use their own pricing system. Before returning the car, take as many photos as possible, especially of the fuel gauge, and keep your fuel receipt. They don't automatically provide a return receipt, so be sure to ask for one. This was my first and last experience with Budget.
This is not a good experience with Budget/Avis car rental. I picked up a car after 11pm last Friday on June 26, 2026, and returned before 11pm on Monday June 30th 2026. My reservation was prepaid. But I received a receipt later with extra charges. I called in yesterday, the representative told me I returned the car on time and it was their mistake will cancel the charge. Check out and drop off was fast. The car was not great, but didn't give me any trouble. The insurance they take you into is way over the budget.
Leaving one star because zero isn’t an option!!! Worst experience ever! Book with budget if you want them to take a $200 deposit and not give it all back because they deduct hidden fees!!! Absolutely unacceptable and customer service doesn’t care!! Do not ever rent a car here!!!!!
