Straight up fraudulent practices. Allows you place a car on hold, takes your money, and then claims they can't accept the SAME DEBIT CARD that you placed the hold with. Arrived at 1:30 to pick up the car as instructed by the online reservation and waited 20 minutes because a sign on the door said no one would be in office until 1:50. The place is in an old building with no real markings to tell where it is. My son was picking up a rental moving truck and the guy behind the counter would only do car rentals first.
I had one job for Budget on July 10, 2025: honor the reservation I made and prepaid two weeks in advance for a full-size SUV. Simple, right? Apparently not. Instead, I got a last-minute call on the day of pick-up saying they didn’t have the SUV available. I rented from Budget (Huntsville location) last month and it was the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. The staff was completely unprofessional and I had to wait over an hour just to get my car — and it wasn’t even the one I reserved. They didn’t care at all and acted like I was an inconvenience for expecting basic service. When I dropped the car off, they were so disorganized they told me to just leave it — no inspection, no walk-around, nothing.
