Yesterday morning I brought my car into the mechanic before work. Yesterday evening my wife's car blew a tire. We both had to Uber home, but last night she reserved a rental car from Budget and used a debit card that was authorized for the credit check, deposit, and rental itself. ★☆☆☆☆ A Total Scam—Avoid at All Costs This was hands-down the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. I booked the car online with my debit card, and the website gladly took my money—no problem there. But when I showed up to pick up the car, I was told by Mary they don’t accept debit cards for the security deposit. Funny how that very important detail is nowhere to be found when you’re booking.
