Living here felt like living on the set of a horror movie. The maintenance staff are some of the laziest worst people I have ever met. On one occasion they fixed a sink drain while I was out of town and I came back to LYE (I know because they left the container there) literally exploded all over my bathroom, wall to wall and floor to ceiling. They left no notice that they had been in my unit and would not pick up the phone to remove the lye so I could use my bathroom. Worst of all, they walked right past my cat’s litter box ... read more

I don’t know how but it got worse after Marks & Co left and Altman took over. Maintenance man is useless and doesn’t keep the common areas clean. The main doors are broken. The dumpster is always overflowing into the driveway. Hallways are dim and moist and often smell of marijuana. I have had three packages stolen from the lobby. Walls are so old and have so many years of paint on them they’re collapsing and cracking open. White paint on EVERYTHING. Silverfish in the drains. Old radiators that don’t work in the winter. Gables is a great little building, it reminds me of NYC apartments w/ the hardwood floors, tons of natural light, high ceilings with deep cut arches, and old style radiators. Maintenance and staff are always quick and helpful!
