This review is strictly for the hotel, not the restaurant. We stayed here many times before and never had any issues. This time, we got the family suite and it was very roomy. This suite was a stand alone building located near the front of the property, between the lobby and their restaurant. It had two separate bedrooms with a queen bed in each room. Prior to our arrival, we were informed that if we checked in after the lobby closed at 7:00 pm, our room keys would be left in an envelope with our name attached to the entry door. However, when we arrived at approximately 9pm, no such envelope could be found. We attempted to contact the lodge multiple times, but all calls were routed to the reception desk, which was already unattended. My review isn't for anything to do with the rooms or service. But the really bright vacancy sign on the road is really jarring in the middle of the gorgeous nature. And I have to say, less eye-catching in an inviting way than the lodge sign down the road. Maybe better choices that don't leave so much light pollution will be made in the future.

We were celebrating my birthday and booked a room with a fireplace that looked wonderful in the photos. Instead, we were given a really strange room (the furthest from the office) that looked nothing like what was advertised. I immediately complained, and they told us the pictures on Booking were incorrect and that the fireplace rooms were closed for the season.
