I drove an elderly friend to the Outpatients today to see Dr Wong for a scheduled review that would have taken some time . I rang the hospital when a bit lost and as a result was 3 mins late for the appointment As I turned the corner in the passage way to go to Dr Wongs receptionist I had to move out of the way of a short Asian male who then walked directly past my friend whom he had seen daily earlier this year over a 2 week period.I was later to discover this was Dr Wong who left and refused to come back. I was admitted to Brunswick Private hospital for rehabilitation post-surgery from the Epworth Hospital, Richmond. I only knew it as the old Vaucluse Hospital, where I worked as a nurse from 1977 to 1992. Comparing the old to this new hospital experience may not be appropriate due to changes that take place in hospitals over time. The doctor i saw in south ward was lovely. Truly empathetic and genuine guy. Big fan of Dr Greg. There were some sweet nurses. However some days with one nurse for 30 people I wandered how staff are treated here. A bit chaotic at times and not always inclined to believe the patient's account unless they present in an extreme manner.
This is my third time being admitted to Brunswick for my mental health, and the care I receive here is truly exceptional. The hospital provides comprehensive care that addresses both my mental and physical health. The staff in the pathology unit are very friendly, and all the doctors/Psychiatrist show a genuine concern for my overall well-being. I have only positive things to say about this private hospital and so glad I was referred there by my GP following an injury requiring trauma care by the state hospital system. To be honest I couldn’t wait to get out of the state system and be admitted to a private health hospital. Dr Thavarajah was very supportive and knowledgeable and the team of nursing staff were kind and friendly. Thank you for everything.
