I got RAPED at the Venice location. I notified the Venice PD, the Care Dept, Medicare, my two Drs, AARP, Notified mgmt , the Stat Board that oversees Hospitals and Drs. Nothing has been done I was lied to-treat like I was a Psyche Patient when the RN,s and their aids are SICK PERVERTS. I will tell everyone I know and meet to stay away from this shithole I was slammed into a wall {have copy of bruise -no=one has asked to see it. ONE BIG CYA They should be shut DOWN/ Avoid misery DO NOT GO NEAR SMH/VENICE
This Hospital has a huger problem and when the problem is reported to the patient care team is it buried. Both my PCP and my specialist refused to get involved. I am a senior and I was abused Mentality, Physically and Sexually from 2/28/06 to 03/20/06 I reported the abuse to RN in charge of the whole floor, two departments that call and ask your stay was plus a written survey . We got excellent care for my mom during her day in the North Port SMH ER and then herbsix night stay at SMH in Sarasota. The ER staff was professional and caring. They kept us informed as they completed the tests which rightfully resulted in her being admitted to SMH. At SMH, we want to particularly compliment Nurse Meghan on the 10th floor and Nurse Annalise on the 8th floor. Recently I was a patient at SMH and would like to acknowledge what wonderful care I received. I had a Watchman Procedure and the nurses in that unit were wonderful. One person I would like to point out is Chris - I think he was a Medical Assisstant but he was fantastic - his friendliness and humor calmed me down and made me feel so much better. He even came back to check on me. Another person was Connor(transporter) - He was friendly and so helpful. SMH is lucky to have such great people working in the hospital......
Had recent total hysterectomy done by Dr Amanda Kane. I would recommend her completely for care & caring! Venice Hospital & staff are fantastic! Notices go to: Tabitha, Dr Robinson, Philip, Corina, Cassidy, Frances, Alexsis, Noelle, Ashley, Karyina & Esp Dr Kane & anyone I have missed. Little discomfort after & healing well. Thank you ... This review is related to this hospital's extremely insensitive practice of playing a lullaby every time a baby is born. When a family has a living child at a hospital, it is one of the few good reasons to be at a hospital. They should be happy, they should be celebrating, but for goodness sakes, they do NOT need the entire hospital to do it with them. Once again, this is the best hospital I have ever been to. The ER staff is so nice and caring. So fast and on point. It must be an amazing place to work as well. When the employees are happy all the time and take such quick, prompt and excellent care of their patients it also shows, that they are treated exactly how they treat their patients. SMH used to be a really good hospital. My parents (now deceased) received excellent care there as well as others I know. Sadly SMH has changed drastically for the worse! NEVER go to SMH ER unless you want to spend hours there with no results and have your insurance companies taken for every last dollar. The parking used to have several levels for visitors and now it is mostly for valet; 2 levels barely filled because of "valet signs" so no care-givers and friends allowed to park.
