We had an amazing experience working with Beatrice from BRT Interior Design. She helped us create the most incredible space for our son that is both beautiful and incredibly functional. Beatrice designed a sensory-friendly play area with a rock climbing wall and monkey bars, along with a new “big boy” bedroom with bunk beds, and the result exceeded our expectations. I clearly explained the kind of design I wanted—minimalist and neutral tones—but they delivered something totally opposite: bright, loud colors and cluttered decor. It felt like they were designing for their own taste, not mine. I spent more time undoing their choices than enjoying the results.
I had high hopes, but working with this interior designer was frustrating. They barely responded to emails, and whenever I called, they sounded rushed or uninterested. Deadlines were constantly pushed back without explanation, and I ended up having to coordinate things myself. Very unprofessional.
Beatrice was wonderful to work with. She was very responsive, and we were able to schedule 2 design in a day sessions very quickly. She designed my living, dining, guest bedroom, and kids play area in my NYC apartment, and I absolutely love how it's coming together! She understood my aesthetic and vision and came up with designs that suit my style and budget, while ensuring my 3 kids could enjoy and actually live in the space, too. I highly recommend Beatrice!
Beatrice brings tremendous compassion, intention, and intuition to her work as a designer which ultimately makes for a space that is not only beautiful, but also attuned to who you are. She designed a playroom for our son that was less about what *we* imagined a space to be and more about what he needed to feel good, calm, and free. You just don't find that level of thoughtfulness and care in most fields and I'm when you do, it's a gift and treasure. Thanks, Beatrice!
