My 86 year old friend has been waiting 3 weeks for a referral to an orthopedic doctor because of knee pain. We spent the morning on the phone trying to get it straight. VA transferred the call to community service who never took the call. I finally hung up after being on hold for 40 minutes. I know this is not all the Brownwood clinic but it should be their responsibility to follow-up on referrals.
If you’re coming here to document injuries or do checkup’s you will be fine as long as you are blunt with your expectations. If you are coming here to be treated you are SOL, cooked, turned away. The place has never gotten any better. Update. 07/07/2024 Biggest joke here is that VA's website states Brownwood patients are EXTREMELY happy with service here. 96% to be exact! More BS and lies from our respected government....🤣 In my previous review I praised the staff of Brownwood VA. Those people are no longer employed there. The reason I was given was that they were spending too much time and resources attempting to help Veterans in a real way. This place is a joke. Called to make an appointment to see Dr for knee pain Nurse said come in as a walk in. All the while knowing an appt was needed. Got here at 8 and at 12 still waiting on dr. Have had to wait weeks for a refill. They need to get rid of everyone and start taking care of the veterans.
