Not being able to schedule an appointment over the phone is not ideal for some people. Policy needs to change. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
When my partner called the Brown County Community Treatment Center for counseling, she got a callback in ten minutes and had her appointment set the same day. That’s how mental health services should work. But when I reached out for help with severe, debilitating anxiety — the same facility, same situation — I was immediately told the counselor couldn’t see me due to a “conflict of interest” and that maybe new counselors would be hired in three weeks.
