The Brown Bottle was established in 1972 in Cedar Falls, Iowa by Donald Landau. The Iowa City restaurant opened two years later, with Waterloo following shortly thereafter. North Liberty joined us in 1994, and our most recent addition is Moline, IL (Nov. 2005). The original recipes and sauces were developed by Donnalee Landau. Great food in a college town We had a late dinner on a Friday of a weekend football game. Our reservation got us right into our table. Service was good, though a little slow as they were still very busy that evening. The menu has a wide variety with an emphasis on pasta. The pasta is excellent and served in decent sized portions. Great environment This little cafe is right in the heart of the ped mall area and great people watching experiences while you dine. I recommend the salads and they have a great wine selection.
Brown Bottle is great This is an upscale Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food is fantastic. It is on a quaint street with little parking, but you can park in a ramp or further away and walk because it's beautiful
