It takes an hour and two subway transfers to get to Dean's studio but it is worth it every time. As a distance runner still trying to train high mileage and run competitively, I've come to Dean with two separate chronic pain issues (hip and groin). Both times I've left our sessions with not only immediate relief, but with the resources necessary for long term relief. A few weeks out from the 2025 NYC Half, I wasn't sure I'd be able to race, but after a session with Dean, I had my most enjoyable race in years. He knows his st... read more

“Dean will fix you.” That’s what I tell everyone I refer to BKSC. I’ve struggled with lower back and leg issues for years and saw multiple physical therapists, but none were able to get me back to running or doing any kind of high-impact sport—until I found Dean. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and brings a ton of good vibes to every session. I feel stronger and healthier after each session, and more informed about my physical health than ever before.

His approach is both personal and effective—he made me feel heard, gave me a clear plan, and guided me through a 12-week program tailored to my goals and recovery. One of t... read more

I visited Dean with terrible back pain from a old sports injury— a disc bulge in my lower spin. The pain was so severe I was contemplating back surgery, Over the past 7 weeks, working with him once a week and with weekly homework (only 20mins every 2 days) my back pain has gone from an average of 9/10 to a 2/10, and I’m only 2/3 of the way through this program. Not only do I really appreciate how quickly the change has taken place, but im also grateful to spend time with him, he’s a really decent guy! If you’re suffering wit... read more
