Glad I finally made it over to Brooklyn Curry Project. I waited on line about an hour until I could order. The food and iced chai was great. I would love to see them have their own brick and mortar store, someday.
Without a doubt, the best dosa you will ever eat made by the most kind family. It tastes like you are in someone’s home. Every detail—every chutney, the pickled vegetables, is all done right and you can taste how fresh everything is. As they expand their offerings, there are even more delicious things to try and they all are equally delicious (mango lassi? Fire thathi idli?? Fire) They deserve all the hype!
From the second I walked in, the aroma was completely mouth-watering. I had been craving a truly good dosa for the longest time, and this hit every single spot. The dosa itself was perfectly crispy with the absolute yummiest stuffing.. pure comfort food that genuinely makes you happy! The food itself is delicious, no doubt! Ordered the mini idly and ghee masala dosa, the dosa was perfection, crispy in the middle and thick at corners, the mini idly was decent, and sambar was delicious. It has a very home cooked feel, and closest to the bangalore benne dosa I had in nyc. However, the wait times and the management of it is terrible. Food was just okay. But standing in line 1 hr and then waiting 30 more mins to get the order wasn’t worth it for what they serve. Don’t think I can waste my Saturday morning for average food again!
