I was very disappointed with my experience. I had many questions and concerns, but the doctor did not take the time to explain things properly. When I asked questions again because I did not understand, the doctor seemed to laugh at me, which made me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. Patients ask questions because they want to understand their health and treatment, and doctors should be patient, supportive, and willing to explain things clearly and in detail. I am really angry and disappointed to hear that Brookland Medical Center is charging patients $40 fee just to access or transfer their own medical records. These are my personal health documents and I believe that patients should have the right to access them freely; especially when continuity of care is at stake. Charging for this feels like putting profit over patient wellbeing. The practice should reconsider this lame policy and prioritize transparency and patient rights.
