I was under the impression that this was a hospital where people went to be rehabilitated following accidents/injuries. I am incredibly disappointed to find that 9 days later, my mother, following a broken hip and two weeks in Addenbrookes, has only had 2.5 hours of physio. She spends 23 hours a day in bed or sitting in a chair in solitary confinement with no company until the limited visiting hours come along. Some of the staff are kind and friendly. I have MS and have mixed views of Brookfields Hospital. Addenbrooke’s physiotherapist advised me to go there to get back to walking a little after an attack of sever sepsis. I had one session in the gym and i think 2 10 minutes with the untrained, but experienced, assistants on the ward. I have yo admit to bed blocking for the last few days of my 1 week stay but by anystNdards this was not proper physio support.
