Principal properties is the worst renter I have ever encountered! We were told to apply for an apartment with 800$ deposit. After we applied, they told us you have to either find a cosigner with income 8 times the rent!!!! Or pay 2800$ deposit for the place that has a 1400$ rent!!! Totally nonsense!!!! And guess what? The total monthly income of us was more than $7000 yet they made such nonsense leasing conditions!!! They just made us wasting 100$ money on application fee for us… DONT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE!!!
Disclaimer: Each apartment in this complex is owned by a private company or person, so this is not a unified complex. Which is why you may have a bad experience or good depending on the landlord/leasing agency you use. I have lived here for four years and it is a good, quiet, and well located complex. Right on the LSU bus route which saves a lot of money. These condos are spacious and have never been out of electricity during a hurricane in my four years. Been here two weeks and I wholeheartedly regret moving here. Principle Properties is the worst. Chandra has the nastiest, rudest attitude. They are absolute crooks in that office. They barely wanted to fix anything. Still haven’t fixed everything. Just wanted to patch up and replace with the same cheap fixtures. Upon moving in here, they didn’t clean this apartment well at all. Place has a stench odor. DO NOT RENT UNDER PRINCIPLE PROPERTIES!!
Shady, shady, shady business practices. Only pros about this place are the location, the availability to LSU’s transportation, and the general quietness of the place. The owners, principal properties, have people working under them that lack professionalism. After living here for several months, rent paid always, the management has claimed they never received my deposit, which was required to even apply to these apartments.
