The executive director Amanda, wellness director Zully, business director Paloma and the rest of her team is what makes this community a very special place for seniors.
This place is so beautiful. The placement of the building is perfect for my mom. The environment means a big deal to me and Brookdale did not fail. The staff is noticeably kind and friendly keeping a warm welcome around the building. Id definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and clean place for their loved ones.
I’m not a customer to be clear. This building constantly gets deliveries and trucks that park in the no parking zone in the alley and regularly block my apartment parking space. The staff was very rude to me and refused to ask the truck driver to move so I could park without risk of damaging my car. In fact, the Brookdale staff actually yelled at me and told the driver they didn't have to move. This happens weekly. Total Garbage. As of 10/26/2024 both of their main elevators are out and are not being repaired promptly. (The first one has been out for over two weeks.) This seems unconscionable since it services elderly that can’t really use stairs. How is this allowed to happen for safety? Seems like the facility’s finances and management decisions are also questionable as they are unable to afford or prioritize timely elevator repairs for their multi-story building of elderly residence. After many years of struggles here at Brookdale Santa Monica Gardens finally we have a wonderful Director who is young, smart and beautiful. Executive Director Mia improves not only my life but the lives of everyone in this community. I enjoy this location because I can walk to the ocean every day and I also enjoy shopping in the various boutiques along Montana avenue.
