RecommendedI have found the staff at Brookdale Rome to be very professional and courteous at all times. You are felt welcome at all times by both staff and residents. As a member of the Disabled American Veterans, chapter 95, of Rome we meet there once monthly and it has been a total pleasure working with the staff and residents.
I have been working with Brookdale for a while and currently help by participating in activities. This community is amazing! The staff are genuine people who care about their work and their residents.
Brookdale of Orland Park is currently having multiple issues that have caused concerns with family members and residents. They have had high turnover in administration (5 executive directors in 3 years). This has led to disorganization which negatively impacts the staff and residents. Communication is extremely poor, and it is difficult to have concerns addressed in a timely manner. Brookdale Senior Living is a greedy, profit-driven sham of a company. They pretend to be oh so caring for the elderly, but do not be fooled. They care about only one thing, and that is profits. I wish I could give zero stars. I'm sure they must pay their workers peanuts, and for most of them it reflects in their attitudes. They are slow, lazy and surly. Brookdale Senior Living is only interested in profit, not caring for people with dementia. My mother was assaulted by another resident with Alzheimer's. I don't blame him. The residents were unsupervised and management refused to staff up to create a safe environment. Once we started complaining, my mom got evicted for being a harm to others. She was the one who was hit! She's at home now. Brookdale is the worst!!

Very pleased with Brookdale Senior Living, Pleasant Hills, AR. Not perfect, understaffed in housekeeping and it shows in the skimpy cleaning for each resident, I am expecting (hoping) that this will resolve as they hire more staff members. Maintains building, quick to respond to repair requests. Staff is respectful as should be the baseline for any senior care facility. My father was admitted to the ER 2 times in a period of 3weeks right after he was moved in. A social worker on the case did not allow him to return to Brookdale due to bed sores and severe weakness and dehydration. My father has Parkinson disease, because they would not administer his medication on time he was bedridden for those 3 weeks. To make matters worse, they have continued to deduct his bank account after his abrupt leave in March with no authorization! On Fri, Jan. 5, 2018, Emergency room called me to come get my dad. A steel door at Brookdale in Durham, NC had slammed shut during a fire drill and knocked him down. After being bandaged and stitched, ER called Brookdale to come & retrieve him, but was put on hold and then hung up on. When ER called back, Brookdale would not answer the phone.
