My grandfather passed away in the memory care unit after falling and breaking his hip- something we believe could have been prevented if staff had been more attentive. I strongly caution anyone thinking about placing their loved one in this nursing home. I was assigned to a quarantined resident here through a third-party elderly care agency. My role was strictly to supervise the client and ensure she remained in her room under Covid protocols — not to perform medical or nursing duties. My mom has been at the Brookdale in frot Collins for almost three years now. It has changed drastically over the last three years... First, the food quality and choice has gone down hill. The residents always had several choices for each meal. Now it's no choice. Or limited choice at dinner. The quality is worse. Service is slow, because there is no kitchen staff.
