My father in law was there for 2 years. During that time they; -had a waterline break with ankle deep water in his room -the elevator was not working for a month -the power went off twice and their huge backup generator did not work -twice my father in law fell onto the floor in his bathroom and laid there for hours with no rescue -staff stole items from his room Offensive care facility
Excellent facility. Staff is very attentive to the residents. Food is very good. Very affordable. My mom is happy.
Update......unfortunately, I need to report my husband left Memory Care after a fall Thanksgiving. Unless you have Hospice and your loved one is under Doctors care, I would not recommend Gemstone. My husband fell numerous times,breaking his hip. Please install a camera, they did not do nightly checks, cleaning people did not clean room or bathroom!!! I certainly liked management however, after several meetings with .management..I removed my husband to a facility with more care. My husband has been in Memory Care at Gemstone.... read more
I cannot recommend Gemstone for anyone seeking a vibrant active assisted living community for theirfamily member. I had visited the community several times in the past so I worked with Monica by phone (I had moved out of town) to secure a unit near all the activities. My mom and brother also visited during a community event. We were told it was an active community with lots of senior activities. Unfortunately, it just wasn't true.
