Wednesday is a suggested donation day, but make sure not to visit in the middle of the summer as it is full of day camps and the the heat gets to the animals and you!
You spend hours walking, taking pictures. It's beautiful. The animals are impressive. You don't feel like you are visiting a concrete jungle here. It truly is beautiful and worth the visit.
The Bronx Zoo houses more than 6,000 animals and over 600 unique species. The zoo employs 750 full time staff each year. What a busy place!
I hope you're wearing sneakers or sandals, you guys will be walking A LOT.
I've been a member here for 13 years and each time I visit with my boys, we find something new. The summer programs are awesome.
