The food is expensive so walk with your own but the exhibits are breath taking!
Head to the sea bird colony at 3:30pm to watch them feed the penguins.
Some of the exhibits here are just sad, particularly the big cats and polar bears. That said, the monorail is one of the best parts IMO. Don't be scared off by the line, it moves quickly.
When you see zoo volunteers/ employees, ask them questions! Heard some cute anecdotes about specific animals this way.
The monkeys and gorillas are awesome. Definitely get there as early as possible
One of the most popular places that people like to explore in the Bronx is the Bronx Zoo! Great place to bring kids so they can explore a variety of different animal exhibitions and the wildlife!
If you stop by check out Jungle World. Pretty good variety as far as species. Overall good bang for your buck.
