It survived with remarkably few changes until taken on by English Heritage in 1990. Beautiful grounds with fantastic plants. The staff were very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Thank you.
Decent looking gardens along with interesting house. Unfortunately suffered flooding in Jan 2025, however historically it seems to have been a place where the owner enjoyed looking at himself (huge amount of mirrors in every room, along corridors etc) as well as elaborate displays of wealth via very ornate rooms - figure he enjoyed inviting people around and flaunting it. The most amazing and beautiful gardens, it was so relaxing and calming to walk around,the amount of bee's and butterflies that were enjoying all the different plants was a pleasure to see
