Best movie theater in Chicago
Quite pleasant
This is my favorite theater. They play the best selection of movies everything from the big summer Blockbusters to Indy darlings. They are also the home of The Midwest Independent Film Festival. The chairs are comfortable, the theaters are nicely sized, and I'm not forced to pick seats ahead of time, which I HATE! The concession stand has your standard fare and now they have a wonderful bar! Century Theaters is by far my favorite theater in the City.
This theater consistently screens movies you won’t likely see anyplace else: Art Films, independent work and documentaries, as well as mainstream movies. The theaters themselves are well maintained, the seats are large and comfortable. It also has one of the few concession stands that carries coffee and tea, as well your standard movie fare.
An excellent film theater combining both popular movies with more "art," independent and documentary film fare. I love that the theater feels more airy and relaxed than most other cineplexes. Good staff, too. However, the theater is housed in the now languishing Century mall building, which ironically, is a gutted movie palace that opened in 1930.
