New Owners My name is Dr. Robert Forto and I am the owner of Denver Dog Works in Aurora/Denver and currently lease the same location that American School of Dog Training used to operate. For the record, I nor my company, my employees or my family associated with the previous dealings with American School Dog Training or it's affiliates. I am the regional director of the International Positive Dog Training Association. I am an advocate of training in a positive way and it must be understood what one person perceives as positi... read more

Money Greedy People If you don't care about your pet this is the place for them! We sent our puppy and almost didn't have a puppy to pick back up. They kept our puppy that was sick for two weeks and never called us. She learned nothing and was fighting for her life when we picked her up. After 7 weeks and many vet bills later she is finally well. I have never seen such torture and abuse in my life. I guess that is what happens when you are dealing with the greed of money. I thought I was sending my dog away to be trained - b... read more

Dog Parks Recently I contacted Denver Dog Works regarding my dog Jenna. Jenna is timid and doesn't like to play with other dogs at the park. I read Dr. Forto's article regarding Dog Parks and I was truly astonished at my own bad choices for my dog. Jenna and I attended a free evaluation and Dr. Forto immediatley set to work. Jenna was placed in growl class. We attended religiously for 9 weeks. On our 10th week Jenna, myself, and Dr. Forto visited the dog park. Jenna did great.

Excellent trainer. Excellent training. Dog training takes patience. My dog was a real monster. I read books and tried to apply the principals mentioned in the books. Apparently my dog didn't read the books and it was a frustrating ordeal. We have had 10 lessons now. We aren't past all of the hurdles yet but what an improvement. I am constantly praised as to how well behaved my dog is now. Bob has taken the time to work with my kids in training my pup. Wow, I can't say more.

Family First Courteous, attentive, knowledgeble. The staff was wonderful to my family and our dogs. Dr. Forto and his wife both trained our dogs and Mrs. Forto took extra time to include our children, ages 6 and 8. Both kids are able to walk our German Shepherds all by themselves. Thank you for all you helped US accomplish.

money greedy is an understatement, YOUR DOG SUFFERS WORSE I took my dog for obedience training, wanted to keep her for a month. She was a 1 year old dane/sheperd mix and uncontrollable, but loving. Within 1/2 an hour of her being there, an employee called and asked if the dog was really a female? She doesn't have long hair, so? Hello, they're dog's! Easy to see which sex... I said yes and asked why. She said that they had put HER into a kennel with their 2 big MALE rotties and she was "humping" them. As time progressed and I... read more

American School of Dog Training is Back in the Hands of the Pro! It's a shame the few clients that had a bad experience. The business has changed hands under new ownership a few times in the past that showed poor business management skills. The original owner Bob Eckhardt has since taken back the business that did so well and is trying to rebuild the reputation that was shot down by people who had no idea what they were doing. My advise is, if you are looking for a person to help train your dog, you will find no one better tha... read more

Denver Dog Works shouldn't be in business They are horrible! DO NOT take your pet there. They are rude to customer's and mean to the animals. As for their classes I'm mean how dumb do you have to be to have an outside agility class in winter. My dog didn't learn anything. I will never take my dog there again or recommend them to anyone. It is a waste of your time and money. Stay far far away from this place.

Group Classes I've been coming to Denver Dog Works since the spring. I enjoy the group class I'm taking for obedience. It's energentic, informative, and fun. Our trainer, Michele, likes to keep us moving and always gives us great tips!
