Friendly and helpful staff
I'm only putting this review five star so it gets pushed to the top but please read what I have to say before you make a decision because I am a dog father and I love my dog like a son. I’ve been bringing my dog to Companion Animal Hospital in Groton, CT for a persistent coughing/retching issue accompanied by nasal congestion. At the first visit, several diagnostic tests were recommended (including X-rays and blood work, among others), which were quite costly. I chose to begin with blood work first. The team, especially Dr. Brown, is just exceptional. I’m so grateful for them and the attention and care they gave my little Fern. I would recommend Companion in a heartbeat!
If I could give this place zero stars I would. They are more focused on money than actually caring for animals. I was incorrectly told my dog hadn’t been seen in over a year so they could justify charging me for an exam just to get her routine yearly allergy shot. When I proved that wasn’t true, they came up with another excuse. Every single visit turns into an attempt to add more unnecessary charges to my bill, even when I’ve clearly said no.
