The organisation is appalling. The management should be ashamed of themselves.
It has an Eye Emergency Department inside. I don't recommend coming on the weekend. Waiting time is over 8 hours because there's usually only one doctor, and they can't do all the necessary tests. I need to go back again during the week. But the staff is great! You can see they're professional.
My GP re-referred me to the Eye Hospital corneal unit, because of problems with night vision. I have had Salzmann’s nodular degeneration, have scarring on the cornea, and some cataracts in both eyes. Apart from the night vision, I also cannot see the music to piano teach. (Optician thinks cataracts, possibly in combination with scarring, are affecting the vision). Had to go with an acute eye issue. Brilliant care, seen quickly by knowledgeable and caring team and problem sorted efficiently with good explanation. Keep up the good work Bristol Eye Emergency dept!
Went in as a walk in on my doctors advice. From walking in to walking out it took just over 20 minutes. Staff were fantastic. Took me longer in the BRI pharmacy waiting for meds they had prescribed that I was actually at the eye hospital
