Brio Italian Grille is always one of my go-to stops whenever I'm in the Newport area for business travel. I've visited numerous times over the years and can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. The food is consistently excellent, and on my most recent visit I tried the Sausage Carbonara—it was absolutely top-notch and one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time. Ordered takeout of the pasta brio and it had so much crushed red pepper on it my wife couldn’t eat it. I love spicy food and I could barely eat it. Called to let the manager know and was told I would have to wait until closing time. This is my second time being disappointed with Brios and my last
I’m pretty patient but this was an extremely poor experience. The food took well over an hour. My steak was medium-well instead of rare. The pasta dishes had clearly been under a heat lamp for a long time. The chicken in one of our party’s entree was tough and stringy. Barely saw our waiter while we waited and only saw the manager when I returned my steak. He did offer to get me a different steak but I was over it at that point.
