Brighton Recovery Center quite literally saved my life. I was there from February-March 2023, and learned so many tools that have helped me stay sober, now three and a half years later! Brighton does lean heavily into AA, which is definitely not for everyone (it never was for me), but I wouldn't change my experience for anything.

As both a former patient and someone who now serves in peer support for mental health and addiction, as well as an Employee Assistance Representative, I’ve had the opportunity to see treatment from both the patient and professional perspective. My overall experience at Brighton was amazing, I'm so deeply grateful for everyone at the South Ogden location. The staff and residents have cultivated an environment that truly supports growth and I left feeling deeply fulfilled. I went in with the mindset "I have to get sober" and left with "I get to be sober." They showed me life can be enjoyed, just just endured. I had a pretty tame experience here except for when my therapist Weston suggested that me being SAed was a propelling factor to me being transgender even though I already told him I was out of the closet before that happened. He was fine besides that, though. Love the techs and nurses and staff. I also thought it strange that they didn’t let people change therapists when they asked to. But yeah it was clean and there was a lot to do and I really liked having a radio.
