Disappointing experience Got a gift card for Christmas and decided it to try dinner at Bridges. We tried the fix price menu because there were several choices that sounded good. Very small wilted salads, tasteless chicken dripping in a sauce of bacon fat.Somehow all that salt and fat never reached the chicken that tasted as if it had been boiled. risotto made with the wrong kind of rice and not creamy nor flavorful. Deserts were delicious : the only saving grace. Last time I step into Bridges. Save your money on this one.
Bridges to Mediocrity The expectations were high and they were not met. A mahi-mahi with pineapple chutney sounded great but it had no pineapple flavor. An herbed parmesan risotto sounded great but was totally bland and you couldn't taste the parm. A bistro steak sounded great but it was a cheap piece of meat. A buttery wine flight sounded great but none of the wines were particularly buttery.
Good Food and nice service – I had a nice anniversary dinner with my wife. The service and food were both very good. They brought a nice little cupcake dessert for our anniversary as well. The menu might be a little pricey, nothing outrageous. They did have a very good and very reasonable Prix Fixe menu with 3 courses for $27. Their prawns and green bean salad starter was outstanding.
Not Worth the Money A beautiful restaurant with great ambience but felt the food was very pricey for the amount you get. Definitely nouvelle cuisine receiving 4 scallops on my plate and my husband's steak was small. All that we should eat, but price should be in keeping with small portions. Scallops and steak were cooked perfectly. Dessert was just okay being a dry chocolate cake but with a great raspberry sauce. I think for the money I would rather go to Cafe Esin or Faz or for less money to Basil Leaf Cafe.
We have been to the wine bar twice and each time we have found new wines we love! The flights are the best here, its like going to Napa or Sonoma without leaving cozy Danville!
1st time and not good – way to pricey, food wasn't that great, except the salad and drinks were good. The place itself was very nice but some of the staff was rude, we also felt rushed. Next time we will go to The Outback and get a better meal for way less money. Won't go back again.
one of my favorites... I have always had a wonderful experience at Bridges. The restaurant itself has several different dining areas with a secluded outdoor patio. I love their pomegranate chicken, their different steaks, and their tast desserts. Their drink menu is great and the service is very good. I came here for my birthday and they were so wonderful and made everything perfect. I truly enjoy this place and love to come for special occasions.
Great for a special occasion Bridges is beautiful. The food is delicious and fresh--the restaurant is pricey but it is a good bet for a romantic date or special occasion with family.
