We had a beautiful drive getting there and it's really the perfect size. We weren't exhausted when we finished and it didn't take all day. Lots of interesting information was provided on plaques and historical markers.
Enjoyed walking thru and reading the tombstones. There's Lots of history there. The grounds were well kept. Definitely worth visiting.
Very cool national park. Its a very small park located at a four way intersection. Short walk from one road side to the other to read the signs and see the cannons. Doesn't take too long to see, so you'll have plenty of time to cross the border into Tennessee to see Shiloh National Military Park and travel to Corinth to see its sister park, stop in at Tupelo National Battlefield, Natchez Trace Parkway visitor center, Tupelo National Military Park, and stop in at the Elvis Presley Birth Place Museum all in one day.
Alot of information on the battle..
Was an interesting quick stop to see part of American history. Where neighbors fought neighbors and to know we were walking on ground that was bloodied in battle. Its quite humbling to see the grave stones and monument. Very informative on the battle lines. Worth a quick stop that took maybe 20 minutes!
