If it were possible to assign a negative rating, I would do so. Brian Cook’s conduct during my daughter’s labor and delivery was negligent and dismissive. From the moment he arrived, he appeared inconvenienced by her labor rather than attentive to her medical needs. Due to improper care and the inappropriate use of a vacuum during delivery, my granddaughter suffered severe injuries and was born with cerebral palsy. This is my first time having a male OBGYN and was hesitant at first but Dr. Cook is great. He’s as thorough, patient, and kind as the female doctors.
my wife and I presented to IU Health Bloomington Hospital OB/GYN for an urgent appointment regarding cervical bleeding. Dr. Brian Cook was the physician on call. What followed was an egregious violation of our rights as patients and an alarming display of unprofessionalism. Without any prior notice, discussion, or request for consent, Dr. Cook entered the exam room accompanied by a medical student. If I could give Dr. Cook zero stars I would. In January of 2023 he performed laparoscopic surgery to try to identify what was causing my extreme pelvic pains. After only 20 minutes of looking around he closed me up. He told my loved ones waiting for me that he couldn’t find anything that would be causing my pelvic pains & suggested I was psychosomatic. He delivered both of my kids he didn't listen to anything myself or my husband said to him. He has 0 empathy and acts like he doesn't care about his job. Both my kids were premies and he didn't care about me being nervous and when I told him with my youngest I didn't want the medicine that slows labor down because it made me severely sick and made me puke horribly and made my middle child come faster he still had his nurse give it to me and my youngest was born not even 20 mins later He should not be a doctor in my opinion. ... read more
