My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis and saw him twice. No doubt was looking to eventually do a spinal fusion surgery rather than treat/prevent. We found his approach extremely negative and switched to another CHOP Doctor who specialized in surgery prevention. What a difference. She changed my daughter’s brace prescription and her curve immediately stopped progressing. She’s done growing and avoided surgery.

I have seen Dr. Vernau twice in the last 6 or so years. He has been quick to provide care and is always eager to help. He understands an athlete's mentally in regards to exercise and sport, and I am so lucky that he is able to work with my goals and passions whilst also healing my injury. I am so lucky to have him!

I swear by CHOP! Dr. Verneau doesn’t spend the time to listen to not only the patient or parent! He brushed my child off and now we have a serious issue. He doesn’t deserve the CHOP Dr. Title!

Dr Vernau is the the most compassionate and understanding doctor. He takes the time to listen and he truly cares about his patience needs. We love him and are so great full for all his help.

He said that the X-ray didn’t show a break, nor did her physical exam- even though she was in tremendous pain. He diagnosed her with amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome aka AMPS. My daughter started crying and I almost did, as we had spent the past year, watching our eldest child suffer with that her horrendous pain syndrome. I asked why this couldn’t just be a ... read more
