Dr. Kaplan is very careless physician. He doesn’t follow up with his patients, he doesn’t answer phone calls or messages. I have visited him for acid reflux, he ordered a very annoying and expensive test, where I have a tube through my nose to the stomach for 24 hours. It has been over a month, maybe 6 weeks, nobody from his office has ever called me back with the results. I have tried several times to call him, but nobody called me back. Dr. Kaplin seemed very thorough and concerned about my symptoms. The treatment he recommended helped me to feel better.
I saw Dr. Kaplan as a new patient three years ago due to symptoms of cholecystitis. The video visit was thorough and compassionate and I didn’t feel rushed. He ordered a few follow up tests and once he saw the results he immediately referred me to a surgeon for further review. Sure enough, I had huge gall stones and chronic cholecystitis. Dr Kaplan and team are by far the best GI team in Houston! He’s been my GI doctor for 15 years, and he’s an amazing physician— both in technical practice (he’s highly, exceptionally proficient) and thoroughness. His demeanor can be a bit rough around the edges occasionally, but otherwise a very nice person.
