Dr. Norman seems skilled as an ophthalmologist. However, this was a dehumanizing experience- 30 min. in waiting room, 10 minute vision test and dilation, followed by 60 min. wait for a 5 min. imaging, then 30 minutes to see doctor-over 2 hours before I even saw the doctor. Other patients mentioned this is typical. Additionally, staff and Dr. were very impersonal- I am not a billing number. I asked for a copy of image, told it was $25, and $6 parking for the privilege of it all.
According to the office staff in Dr. Ly's office they are understaffed. This was very apparent in the past year. I tried to get authorized for Botox for migraine, and the authorization sat on their desk for months before they put it through. Because of this, I wasn't able to get the treatment in time before I switched insurance. I tried to get prescriptions filled, and my insurance needed authorization. Myself and my pharmacy again called them for months, and they did not return our phone calls.
Dr Ly and his staff have been very kind in helping my suffering of migraines post stroke. There is a direct and truthful approach my family appreciates.
I've only been seeing Dr. Ly for a few years, but have made the decision to find a new Neurologist. The main reason is that I've called at least five times over the last two years to schedule a check up appt. and MRI/EKG, I've left messages, but no one has returned the call. Additionally, Dr. Ly seems right out of med school and a little green. He has very little to say when I have met with him in the past and I end up paying a $50. co-pay for about 2-5 mins of his time. Not worth it to me!
Dr. Ly provided compassionate care when I was completely lost and confused regarding my son's diagnosis. During the emotional time, he thoroughly explained the options, and gave me and my husband the time to really help us understand the situation. We couldn't have gone through the incident without his sound voice and guidance.
I love this guy! He is personable and an excellent dr. I had gone into emergency on Saturday with a detached retina. He met me at his office on Sunday morning and did the surgery that day! A Sunday! I couldn't believe it! He must be a very caring person to do that!
I would be blind if it were not for Dr. Norman. He has been my ophthalmologist for 20 years and I would not let anyone else near my eyes. I trust him implicitly as a person and as a surgeon. He is a brilliant physician with a warm and kind heart. Some of his staff have been with him as long as I have been seeing him. To those who complain about a long wait in his waiting room I would say that he is worth the wait. I will wait as long as necessary to see him because he is the best around.
Misdiagnosed Put me on a medication that made me violently ill, Called office 6 times. NEVER called back. Tried to make follow-up appointment, but not available for 6 weeks.
