Paid £2.5 k for an engine ‘refurb’ that was supposed to take a few months. After multiple let downs (one time the car was ‘ready’, I booked mot / insurance only to be told there was an issue as I was about to leave to pick it up). Finally got my vehicle back after 8 (eight) months. Engine warning light after a few days - Brennans stated couldn’t get part (glow plug) & never heard back from him. Just over a year ago now, my much loved Golf 4 tdi, that's been serving me faithfully for literally 17 years finally stopped. A broken rear engine block mount meant the engine became unsupported and tilted slightly, pressing against the timing belt. Belt was damaged and as a result jumped couple of teeth causing the dreaded head damage. Of course everyone said that it wasn't worth repairing but it was to me.
