My experience with J. Michael has honestly been really disappointing. Before diving into the negative parts, I want to acknowledge the few positives: Jessi, the leasing agent, is very responsive, kind, and patient. I lived in a couple properties managed by JMRE, Telluride and Breckenridge, and loved both experiences. They were prompt in their responses and maintenance orders; they were honest with their move out inspections (not scamming tenants); and they follow tenant-landlord laws to a T. No entries without proper notices and they would send entry or general building notices with ample time. Honestly, it has not been a good experience living here. First off, the building is located right next to the train tracks, so it is louder than ever and it makes it impossible to get a good nights sleep. Secondly, the staff is unprofessional and not good at making their tenants happy and l welcomed. They love to charge you for anything that they can find so be careful, they will even charge you for maintenance visits. I was hoping to get some shredding in before the end of winter. Turns out my luxury apartment and its marble topped amenities won't be completed until the next summer/ fall. I can barely fit all my slopestyled gear into my current apartment but J michaels seems unconcerned. If you really want to live the high life I would suggest moving to colorado or considering one of Iowa city's other luxury apt. brands.
