BreastScreen Victoria is an accredited part of BreastScreen Australia – the national screening program for breast cancer. We invite eligible Victorians aged 50 to 74 to have a free breast screen (mammogram) every 2 years. Breast screens can find cancers that are too small to feel. The sooner cancer is found, the more successful treatment is likely to be.

Very caring and professional people couldn’t ask for a better place to go to
I had a mammogram here today. I have mixed feelings about it. Whilst I’m grateful for a free service the lady who did my screen failed to really have much of a bedside manner or offer any instructions on how to stand, place my arms ect, just sort of grabbing them. I don’t think she meant to be so non informative but it’s not really ok. She really needs some training in how to speak to patients and offer some warmth. I can’t imagine any of us really want to be here but I do find most of the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and well informed about what’s going on. Having spent almost an entire day here (not exaggerating) and all manner of tests, I encountered many of the staff. The waiting around was excruciating, especially given it’s expected you’re happy to get around in a gown without a bra on in public to keep the girls strapped up.
