Excellent Boullabaisse and a wall of wine to choose from.
After drooling over 70% of their normal menu, my friend and I ended up sharing 5 plates from their seasonal menu. We started with oysters, which were fresh and sweet, paired with a great vinaigrette. We moved onto their heirloom tomato salad, which was good, but the grape tomatoes were much more flavorful than the heirloom on the plate. I think it was a bit under-ripe and could have used a bit of salt. The food was amazing! Our server was an absolute blast. Very nice romantic atmosphere. Being on vacation we went crazy with the order and got everything that looked good. The pork rillette was particularly delicious. My only negative comment was on the oysters the shuckers did not release the lower abductor so the oysters were stuck in the shell and had to be forced out. The escargot was particularly delicious. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting a higher end dining experience to come here for the evening.
Interesting take on Coquille St Jacques..... Chef needs to go back to school to learn what that dish is supposed to be. It was tasty but I definitely did not expect a bowl of creamed corn (with enough corn to come from about 6 cobs of corn) with 3 scallops on top. Wish I had ordered something else. Hubby's shrimp pasta was nice but not stellar. Friend's steak frites and poulet frites were yummy. Mushroom soup was "lick clean bowl".
