Paid a very large retainer for what ended up being a straightforward (federal criminal) case. There was never any actual defensive strategy presented by my team. Mostly I was encouraged to go through the legal motions and don't fight back. Soon after my conviction and sentencing I received a 'good bye, our services have been rendered' email from the firm legal secretary.
