July 2-5, 2026 - It was our first visit to the Eastern Shores of Maryland. We came to celebrate a dear friend’s special birthday. I guess when I saw “5 star” and “luxury” and the prices, I envisioned something along the lines of the Inn at Perry Cabin (which is luxurious and five star). This I’d describe more as “quaint” but not luxurious or five star. The outside is pretty but inside needs updating. If you want something really upscale, this will be disappointing.

Located just outside of charming Chestertown, we stayed the weekend at Brampton and it was so relaxing and lovely. Stunning gardens, big porch with fans, library and lounge. Plenty of communal space to unwind outside of the stunning (and large) room! Breakfast was delicious, as was the daily tea, and we were lucky enough to get some good recommendations from the innkeeper on activities to do in the area.
