I went to Brakes Plus for a second opinion after another establishment gave me a detailed report stating I needed my rear brakes completely redone (which turned out to be false). I thought it fishy as my car is quite new; however I wanted to be safe rather than sorry. The guys at Brakes Plus were professional and helpful and took the time to show me each brake pad & rotor and explained to me how the parts interacted, what my measurements were and how that info related to measurements of new pads and pads in dire need of changing. The consult was free of charge. They did such an amazing job that I felt guilty not paying for their time. They have earned me as a customer for all future maintenance needs. This is probably the only positive garage experience I've ever had. I recommend them wholeheartedly. No appointment necessary; the gentlemen work fast.

I went to Brakes Plus recently for a tire balance and to replace rotors. The price was reasonable and they even stayed late to finish the job on the same day as promised.

Trust Merlins in Frisco
I went to Merlins in Frisco today, just one stop of MANY I was planning to make to get estimates for brakes. I hate auto work - even the dealerships will take you for a ride. And if you're a woman, an honest estimate resides somewhere in an alternate reality. Anyway,my brakes were squealing periodically and I thought I may have reached my wear indicators. Merlins got my car in quickly and brought me out to show me the condition of my brakes. You're not going to believe this; they told me I had 8-10,000 miles left on the brake pads and that everything was fine; the squealing I was hearing was due to the humidy and I should brake more slowly to reduce the glaze on the brakes. That's not to say that if you hear squealing you should ignore it; but do take it here for a free estimate. These guys are honest and have all of my future business.

Owner and other employees are VERY nice!
I went to merlin because they had a coupon deal for oil change. I met the owner and was very impressed at how friendly and kind he was. The oil change took no longer than 20 minutes and the service was great. The prices are not that bad for an oil change, but look for the coupons in your mail!
