WAS I THERE?
Great area to stay and enjoy the Blowing Rock area. Everything is within walking distance. Make way down to the Ragged Gardens for Fridays Music on the Lawn every Friday evening. Local shops, coffee spots, bars and breweries are excellent. Also a great option for bikers that want to be close to the parkway and away from the congestion of App State campus.
These are great, affordable rooms, easily within a block’s walking distance of all kinds of shops and restaurants. I forgot to take pics, but the room we stayed in looked nicer than I expected: I think the lodge made some upgrades since the last pics on Google were taken.
I would have rated this higher except for one thing. The price and misrepresentation of demand. When I called to book of course they were filling up fast and price was double what it should have been and what it would be if I booked a week earlier. Get here, check in and the place is a ghost town almost. The room was clean but not even close to being worth what I paid and the place to have maybe 25% occupancy.
