Complimentary tours are offered every hour on the hour, Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Gift Shop is open Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Historical Highlights A Smith Bowman bought the Sunset Hills estate farm in 1927 and opened up a dairy and granary. The farm was so abundant that he needed a use for the excess grain from his fields. In 1935, after the repeal of prohibition in the state of Virginia, he built and licensed the distillery. We were welcomed as we walked through the door by a friendly staff. That was followed by a fantastic tour with Holly. She went above and beyond to make it a great experience for our small group. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend a tour with her to anyone. The gift shop was neat, lots of things to look through. Overall a worthwhile trip.
Great experince with the tour and tasting, Holly was very fun friendly and knowledgeable about the history, the process, and all the other fun facts. You could see her passion and it was really interesting to learn all the history about both the distillery and how the make they good stuff. Highly recommend.
Great bourbon. Great Gin. Exceptional merchandise selection. Friendly staff. I highly recommend visiting this distillery.
