Dr. Obermeier is my favorite vet in the Boulder area. She helped me with the routine needs of my 6 horses. She is communicative, responsive, and very helpful. A major commonly used vet in Boulder would routinely over-sedate several of my horses for routine procedures leading to scary reactions in my horses, but Dr. Obermeier knew that drafts need less sedation. I own 7 horses and Charlotte has been my vet for 12 years. I can’t say enough positive things about her professionalism and compassion. Charlotte is always willing to calmly talk me through all the options when something is going on with one of my horses so I can make informed decisions. When one of our older horses was sick, Charlotte tried what she could to help him feel better and talked my daughter and me through what was happening in his body. If I could give this vet a negative 100 I would. Charlotte went to our property for a check up on our 36 year old horse and told us we should put her down. She said it would be "humane to just shoot her in her head." She said no one would need to know so as to hide it from my mom, the owner of this beautiful animal. The horse is thin, and we're trying to get weight on her, but she is still very much alive, happy, and coherent. It's a miracle she's this old but it's because she is loved and taken care of. She is an excellent vet, and is available when you need her. I was impressed with her the first time she came out, and continue to be very confident in her abilities and commitment.
