The venue is spectacular. If you like to spent a magical night in a place that will take your breath away this is it. I loved that people actually dressed for the show. And it was truly a show.
Historic, gorgeous, and acoustic perfection.
I went to see Solas front the BSO. I have to say, Solas is fantastic, the BSO is a wonderful orchestra but my god, this was a situation where 1+1=0.5 (or 0.2). 90% of the show, I couldn't hear the band, literally, at all. The sound man clearly didn't know how to deal with anyone but the orchestra. I am so glad I saw Solas a couple nights before at a different venue. That show was 100 times better. My advice, if you are going to see the BSO, go see the BSO on their own. They are a wonderful orchestra but they have no clue how... read more
