The 3 is for the lack of problem solving regarding people with gas vehicles parking in electric parking spots on King St. (this leaves us with EVs stranded)! There should be a violation for anyone who parks there that isn’t charging a vehicle. Period! We have called several times, and suggested they paint those spots with GREEN EV on the ground like we see in Charlotte and this would deter people from parking there. Do something about it! The Town of Boone NC has numerous high-paid positions, rules, forms, and a police guarding the administrator’s parking spaces yet it is so inefficiently run that the simplest things are impossible to get accomplished. Start at the top and reorganize, have a professional do your archaic website —including the long list of outdated forms that are impossible to look through, etc. This is embarrassing for the town that routine things take up so much time and attention yet is still a failure. What a horrible experience in Boone. The town clearly writes predatory parking tickets. Online it said the post office was open. We parked and walked inside only to find that they in fact were closed. Never having been there, we walked all around the building thinking maybe we had entered the wrong section. When we came back we had a parking ticket.
